What Is Covered
Manufacturing Defects
Topshot Targets warrants all products against defects in materials and workmanship under normal shooting use. If a product fails due to a defect we caused, we will replace it or issue a refund — your choice. This warranty applies from the date of delivery.
Weld Failures
All welds are inspected before shipping. If a weld fails under normal use conditions — meaning the target was used with appropriate calibers at appropriate distances — we will replace the target at no cost to you. Weld failures caused by overloading with incorrect or overpowered calibers are not covered.
Material Defects
We use certified AR500 hardened steel on all our targets. If a target exhibits premature cracking, delamination, or structural failure not caused by external misuse, that is a material defect and is fully covered under this warranty. We will replace the product.
Structural Issues Under Normal Use
Any structural failure — including bracket failures, mounting hardware defects, or target geometry issues that make the product unsafe or non-functional — that occurs under rated, normal shooting conditions is covered. Contact us with photos and we'll get you sorted.
What Is NOT Covered
Misuse & Incorrect Calibers
Damage caused by using ammunition not rated for the specific target — including calibers that exceed the target's rating, steel-core rounds, armor-piercing ammunition, or any caliber explicitly listed as incompatible — voids this warranty immediately. Check the caliber rating on your product listing before shooting.
Shooting Too Close
Engaging steel targets at distances shorter than the minimum safe engagement distance — typically 100 yards for rifles and 10 yards for pistols — creates excessive impact energy that can damage even properly rated steel. Damage resulting from close-range shooting is not covered under warranty and is also a serious safety hazard.
Normal Wear & Tear
Steel targets are consumable products. Surface pitting, paint wear, edge chipping, and cosmetic impact marks from normal use are expected and not defects. These are signs that your target is doing its job. Surface rust from outdoor exposure or lack of maintenance is also considered normal wear and is not covered.
Accidental or Intentional Damage
Damage from drops, improper storage, exposure to extreme conditions, modification, welding by third parties, or any other cause outside of normal shooting use is not covered. Targets that have been modified from their original condition are not eligible for warranty claims.
